The Cesar Chavez Conference for Literacy, Early Education, & Educational Policy at Fresno State University, California was the ideal forum for presenting this documentary.
The mission of the Chavez conference is to...
"...live up to the broadest definition of freedom of thought, the highest standards of professionalism and the democratic promise of educational reform, taking special care to address the needs of the poor and marginalized".
I was in great company with other advocates of children and quality & humane education, such as Dr. Jyothi Bathina, Dr. Ernest Morrell, Dr. Eugene Garcia, Sandra Hammond ( Educational Perspectives for the Central Valley), Rog Lucido ( EPATA), & Dr. Glenn DeVoogd.
Among these stellar individuals were some of the extraordinary contributors to the documentary: Joseph Lucido, Leticia Sullivant & Shawna Haymond. We were all inspired and enriched as we shared our ideas and insights with one another.
" Perhaps we can bring the day when children will learn from their earliest days that being fully man and fully woman means to give one's life to the liberation of the brother who suffers." - Cesar E. Chavez
There is so much work to do.
