Instead, they have been born into the X-BOX Generation.
Many do not know how to work their brains.
They have not disciplined themselves.
They do not memorize ( remember, "rote" is no longer acceptable teaching, although it built foundations of knowledge for centuries).
These children are not given the necessities of life.
They are given the luxuries, and still wonder why they do not have more.
